Job Overview:
Water’s Edge Rehab & Nursing Center at Port Jefferson is seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support nursing leadership and ensure the delivery of high-quality resident care in our skilled nursing facility. The ADON will work closely with the Director of Nursing to oversee clinical operations, staff performance, and regulatory compliance.

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing with daily clinical and nursing operations

  • Supervise nursing staff and ensure appropriate staffing and coverage

  • Ensure compliance with NYS DOH, CMS, and facility policies

  • Support quality assurance, performance improvement, and infection control initiatives

  • Participate in staff education, training, and evaluations

  • Review clinical documentation and care plans for accuracy and compliance

  • Support survey readiness and response activities

  • Address resident and family concerns related to nursing care

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State

  • Prior nursing leadership experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting preferred

  • Strong knowledge of state and federal regulations

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills

  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed
