Position Summary

Boulder City Hospital is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Geriatric Psychiatry (GeroPsych) Unit. This role is ideal for a dedicated nursing professional with a strong background in psychiatric care who is passionate about supporting the mental health and well-being of older adults.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, therapeutic, and patient-centered nursing care to geriatric psychiatric patients
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospital protocols
  • Monitor patient behavior, mental status, and safety throughout the overnight shift
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including physicians, therapists, and social workers
  • Accurately document patient care, observations, and interventions in the medical record
  • Maintain a calm, supportive, and structured environment conducive to patient stabilization

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Nevada (or compact license)
  • Required: Prior psychiatric nursing experience (GeroPsych experience strongly preferred)
  • Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and de-escalation skills
  • Ability to work independently during overnight hours
  • BLS certification required (ACLS preferred or willingness to obtain)
