The Nurse Practitioner collaborates with the physician to coordinate and manage the process of patient care. Provides expanded primary health care services for a case load of patients in the areas of clinical specialization.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing with MSN or DNP.
Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in North Carolina.
Pain management experience preferred.
Ability to work as member of a team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Fundamental knowledge of PC based applications.
Good physical and mental fitness to meet the demands made by patient, families and physicians.
Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

The University of Iowa Health Care Walk-In Clinics is seeking a 90 - 100% (36-40 hours a week) Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) to primarily support our Iowa City/Corridor Walk-In Clinics (Urgent Care/Quick Care Clinics) . Our Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) perform direct patient care, including diagnostic and therapeutic services within our Walk-in Clinics. UI Walk-in Clinics provide care to try to save our patients a trip to the emergency room. We’re open evenings, weekends, and even some holidays. Our clinics are responsible to assess a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric and ensures patient care standards are met and provide access to additional care options not normally found at your traditional walk-in clinic, including X-rays, IV fluids, and stitches. This position is part of a dynamic and fast paced environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork between multiple disciplinary teams to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. Basic Function And Responsibility Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP) will exercise autonomy in medical decision making and services provided. The ARNP will also assist in educating healthcare students, as they rotate through the respective departments and divisions and will assist in research endeavors as appropriate. This position reports to the Medical Director within the UI Community Clinics and Lead APP within UI Community Clinics. Characteristic Duties And Responsibilities Provide care responsibilities in both our QuickCare and Urgent Care Clinics, will rotate clinical sites. Obtain medical history and perform physical examination. Assess, assist, diagnose and treat medical or surgical problems and record findings.
