Responsibilities

Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to include conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures. Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Qualifications

Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program
  • Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology; instrumentation and medical equipment knowledge
  • Clinical Competencies; Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology.
  • Six (6) months experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements

  • 1 year Certified OR experience
  • Certified OR Tech
  • CORT or CST

Position Responsibilities: • Scrubs for, prepares, sets-up and assists during any surgical procedure and provides support to nursing and ancillary departments by transporting and transferring patients to and between units when necessary. • Prepares instruments and supplies for future procedures. • Collects and handles specimens according to policy and procedures. Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required: One year OR Training or Experience. Required Education: High school graduate or equivalent. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Training Program. Training/Certifications/Licensure: BLS. Surgical Technologist Certification preferred Maintenance of New Jersey State required 15 CEs per year. Hourly Rate: $28.63 - $44.54 The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
