Responsibilities

The Quality Coordinator will manage the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital's overall quality assurance program that includes ancillary, support and nursing departments to identify trends, prioritize and recommend improvements, decrease duplication, and ensure The Joint Commission compliance.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s degree in Nursing
  • Current NJ State professional Registered Nurse license
  • Required 1-2 years’ experience in quality improvement and/or utilization review and/or regulatory experience in an acute care setting

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 3-5 years of acute care medical/surgical unit experience
  • Experience with Epic and Midas
  • CPHQ and/or CPPS certification
  • Project Coordination / Project Management experience

Rate of pay is determined based on experience and education and may include other pay components such as differentials and call pay based on role.

This Registered Nurse role combines traditional nursing functions with specialized training in the management of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs). Working collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other members of the healthcare team, the Staff Nurse ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality care for patients with implanted cardiac devices. Responsibilities include device interrogation, troubleshooting, patient education, and ongoing care coordination, while also supporting the overall goals of the Division of Cardiology. Among the key duties of this position are the following: Performs interrogation, interpretation, and re-programming of cardiac implantable electronic devices (CIEDs) in person, remotely, and/or via phone transmission. Conducts initial device analysis, generates preliminary reports, and alerts physicians or non-physician practitioners to urgent issues requiring further attention. Troubleshoots critical device issues and takes immediate steps toward resolution. Collaborate with physicians regarding device status and accurately document all device analyses in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Educate patients on device function, remote monitoring processes, and follow-up protocols. Ensures accurate charge capture for device interrogations. Schedules and tracks device follow-up appointments in EMR and remote monitoring platforms, contacting “no-show” patients promptly to reschedule.
