The Role
Position: Full-Time Unit Manager (RN)
Schedule: Monday – Friday (No Weekends); On Call
Daily Structure: This is a working leadership role; the Unit Manager will be working on the floor for 4 hours daily to provide direct support and clinical oversight, with the remainder of the shift dedicated to administrative management.
Responsibilities
Clinical Excellence: Ensure all nursing personnel comply with established standards, practices, and regulatory requirements to maintain the highest quality of resident care.
Direct Care: Provide hands-on clinical support by working on the floor 4 hours daily, leading by example and assisting the nursing team.
Quality Improvement: Implement and monitor compliance policies, quality improvement programs, and facility procedures.
Infection Control: Responsible for surveillance, rounding, analyzing, and reporting healthcare-associated infections.
Budgetary Support: Assist the Director of Nursing and Administration in developing and implementing nursing department budgets.
Leadership: Supervise, delegate, and lead peers effectively to ensure smooth unit operations.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of three years of geriatric nursing experience, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
Clinical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of the MDS process, PDPM, and Medicare A codes/guidelines within a Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
Leadership: Proven ability to delegate and lead a team; prior staff management experience is required.
Skills: Excellent communication, strong organizational abilities, and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative group.
Tech Savvy: Proficient computer knowledge and experience with electronic medical records.
License
Must possess an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Wisconsin.
