A full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position is available in the Sacramento area, assigned to support a K-12 student with tracheostomy care needs. This contract role will start as soon as possible and is vital for ensuring the student's health and safety throughout the school year (CSY).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to a student with a tracheostomy, including monitoring and maintenance
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Communicate effectively with school staff, healthcare providers, and the student's family
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation
- Respond promptly and appropriately to emergency situations related to the students medical needs
Qualifications:
- Current and valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license
- Experience or training in tracheostomy care and pediatric nursing preferred
- Ability to work full-time hours during the school year
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Commitment to student health and safety in a school environment
