Scripps Memorial Encinitas Medical Acute 1 North is a 30-bed medical-surgical unit with telemetry patients. Our primary focus is medical patients but see a wide variety of patients ranging from cellulitis or sepsis to substance withdrawal.The ideal candidate will be someone who is self-motivated and committed to providing exceptional patient care. In this role you will be assisting patients with their activities of daily living, performing vital signs, and performing EKGs. The Duties Of a Patient Care Assistant Include Providing excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team Assisting patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician Supporting the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills One year of recent experience working under the license of a licensed healthcare provider OR current enrollment or completion of Nursing Assistant training from a recognized school OR current enrollment in an RN program with completion of the second semester, including nursing fundamentals. Must be able to speak, read and follow instruction in English. Excellent interpersonal skills with a service aptitude. Join Our Float Pool Team of Patient Care Assistants (PCAs) where you will provide excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. PCAs assist patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment. They assist with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician and supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties. The ideal candidate will be someone who is eager to gain exposure to up to 7 different departments in a float pool environment. Here you will have a unique opportunity to work with individuals in different department atmospheres with differing patient populations. Patient ratios range from 7:1 to 8:1. Primary assigned tasks will include working as a sitter in patient care and working on the floor to assist patients with walking, washing, and assorted needs while providing exceptional patient care.
