Your Role as a Registered Nurse (RN)

As an RN within our community, you’ll be a vital leader in ensuring our residents receive exceptional, holistic, person-centered care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accurate Daily Documentation: Maintain comprehensive and precise clinical records.

  • Medication Management: Transcribe orders, coordinate with the pharmacy, and safely administer medications.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with our care team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

  • Patient Monitoring: Recognize changes in condition early and implement effective nursing interventions.

  • Wound Care: Provide skilled wound care and track healing progress.

  • Family Communication: Educate and support residents and their families with clarity and compassion.

  • Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all facility protocols and regulatory guidelines.

  • Additional Duties: Support the care team as needed and as directed by the Director of Nursing or the Administrator.

We Are Hiring: Registered Nurse (RN)- ICU- Waukesha Memorial Hospital- 0.9 FTE- 12 Hr Nights Waukesha Memorial Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit is a 24 bed, multi-specialty unit including cardiovascular, neuro-surgical, medical respiratory, sepsis, drug overdoses, suicide attempts, a variety of other surgical, and trauma. This team works with adult and some pediatric patients. The ICU intensive care unit at Waukesha Memorial Hospital has earned a silver-level Beacon Award for Excellence from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN). The award recognizes unit caregivers for successfully improving patient outcomes and aligning unit practices with AACN standards. Units that receive this three-year award meet national criteria consistent with other national quality awards, such as the National Quality Healthcare Award. Waukesha Memorial is one of only two hospitals in Wisconsin to earn the silver-level Beacon award. (2013). Schedule Details: This 0.9 FTE commits to 36 hours per week of 12 hour night shifts 1900-0730. The candidate is required to work every third weekend and alternating holidays. At least 1 year of ICU experience preferred. This is not a seasonal or temporary position. What You Will Do: The Clinical Nurse is a competent practitioner who integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical experience in the care of patients and families. Care is delivered using a deliberate, systematic approach and practice is guided by increasing awareness of patterns of patient responses in recurrent situations. These nurses demonstrate a mastery of most technical skills and begin to view clinical situations from a patient and family focus as they provide professional nursing care within clinical areas/ campuses as required by staffing matrices. These nurses also supervise and direct delegated nursing acts commensurate with educational preparation and demonstrated abilities of the person supervised. What You Will Need: Associate's Degree in Nursing required. Bachelor’s Degree is preferred Wisconsin Registered Nurse License Valid American Heart (AHA) Basic Life Support ( BLS) certification.
