Overview
In collaboration with Clinic Medical Director and Manager, assesses, develops, implements, and evaluates education/training and competency assessment for nursing/clinical staff for designated clinics within UFP. Serves as a resource for Epic EMR and nursing/clinical practice issues. Researches, recommends and implements best practice and writes policy and procedures in conjunction with Director of Service and Quality and Senior Director, Faculty Practice Clinics to ensure safe care. Monitors compliance with Q/A activities for designated clinics. Serves in a lead role for areas such as education and competency, emergency preparedness, communication, workflow, documentation and laboratory processes. Accountable to Senior Director, Faculty Practice Clinics, for safe nursing care.
Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements: Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Florida with Bachelors Degree strongly preferred; 3 years nursing clinical experience required. Experience in leadership, mentoring, preceptorship and program development preferred. Experience with computers and Microsoft applications such as WORD, EXCEL and PowerPoint strongly preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong working knowledge of Epic EMR. Must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills and good technical writing skills. Must require minimum supervision and exercise sound judgment. Must be able to work independently and/or within a team-oriented environment using appropriate CQI tools. Must be able to work with a diverse group of individuals in an environment where access to and control of confidential information is significant. Must be able to stand for extended periods while teaching, work independently and for extended periods of time at a computer. This position will require travel to numerous outpatient clinic sites. Motor Vehicle Operator Designation: Employees in this position: Will operate vehicles for an assigned business purpose as a 'frequent driver' NOTE: A frequent driver is defined as one who uses his/her personal or Shands automobile a) at least once daily, b) at least five individual trips per week or c) drives, on average, over 150 miles per week in the performance of his/her job. Please indicate the appropriate operator designation on the Request for Personnel (RFP) form at the time a RFP is submitted to post the position. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current Florida RN license; BLS certified or completion within 2 months of hire.
