Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. What you will do in this role:

Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication.
Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.

Helpful if available to float to Plano and/or Dallas. Documents all pertinent data in the patient’s medical record. Reports all significant changes or observations to the NP on duty and is responsible for the follow up on any problem which is identified. Evaluates the patient’s response to therapy and documents this finding in the medical record. Educates patients and/or family members regarding therapy plan. Ensures that all medication orders are complete, appropriate, accurate and up to date prior to treatment. Understands and adheres to all applicable state, local and Federal laws and / or regulations including maintaining patient confidentiality through abiding by HIPAA laws/regulations. Minimum Requirements: Requires an ASN or ADN and a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Requires a current unrestricted RN license in applicable state required. Multi-state licensure is required if this individual is providing services in multiple states. For Paragon and Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position and Hepatitis B vaccine or signed waiver. What you will do in this role: Assess the patients condition during admission and each scheduled shift, promptly identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s), and ensure thorough and timely documentation of care administration in the patients medical record. - Administer prescribed medications, monitor the patient for therapeutic response, and take appropriate action in the event of an unintended response to the medication. Provide exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, proactively anticipating patient needs, and resolving them. Educate patients, families, and caregivers about the patients medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures, ensuring complete understanding by translating complex medical terminology.
