Responsibilities

As our Assistant Director of Nursing, you will play a vital role in our nursing department's management. You will assist in interviewing applicants, scheduling, and participate in orientation and in-service education training. You will also participate in performance reviews, enforce personnel policies, and ensure compliance with regulations for documentation from physicians and nursing personnel. You will be responsible for assisting with care planning, Continuous Quality Improvement, and ensuring proper infection control techniques are utilized.

Qualifications

We are looking for an RN with a current license by State Board of Nursing and at least three years of nursing experience and one year of supervisory experience. You must have excellent organizational and planning skills, the ability to coordinate with other departments, and strong interpersonal and communication skills. LTC/SNF experience is strongly preferred

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Responsibilities The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are: Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote the continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assesses health status by interviewing patient regarding status and medical history. Collects and records nursing assessment and interventions. Reviews and reports the results of the health status assessment and physical examination, pertinent laboratory data, radiographic data and psychosocial assessment of assigned patients to the provider and takes appropriate action based on standard or verbal orders. Assesses patient/family needs and provides teaching and other instructional material. Provides psychosocial support to patients and families. Maintains patient confidentiality. Prepares and administers therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administers all medications/blood products using correct medication/blood product, dosage/amount, route, time and technique. Assures pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms are obtained prior to administration of therapies where applicable.
