Position Summary

Ensures the workflow of the clinical area and directs clinical staff according to provide excellent patient care with direction from Charge RN or Physicians. Maybe responsible to maintains appropriate logs and licensing for laboratory, CLIA, vaccines and medication under regulatory guidelines. Responsible for storage and inventory of all clinical supplies. Maintains a close working relationship with physicians, Medical Director and Management. Provides direct patient care in a courteous, caring and respective manner. Documents accurately in EMR system according to licensure and VMG policy and procedures.

Education

Completion of formal coursework that is equivalent to a minimum of an associate's degree in nursing. Combination of equivalent years of relevant work experience and some formal education may be considered.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a clinic or outpatient setting. Also, demonstrated understanding of the operations in a medical practice environment preferred.

Skills

Current and valid New Jersey RN. Current and valid BCLS certification required. Ability to use effective critical thinking skills (analytical, clinical reasoning, decision-making, problem-solving, time management, etc.). Outstanding interpersonal, service excellence behavior and customer service skills required. Strong orientation towards the provisions of high quality, cost effective and comprehensive medical care. Applies warm and cold compresses, consistent with facility procedure; performs irrigations, consistent with Facility procedure; performs other procedures related to skin care, as necessary; administers medications correctly and safely; correctly identifies medication in terms of action, dosage, side effects, and implications for the patient; meets standard on medication administration examination; demonstrates preparation of local solutions. Administers and documents medication correctly; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions; educates patients and significant others related to drug and food interactions; participates in patient and family education; provides patient with an explanation of his/her condition as indicated; communicates assessment data in an orderly fashion by recording, updating and verbalizing pertinent information to care team members and to appropriate agencies; recognizes and utilizes health teaching opportunities and resources /materials available for this teaching; provides for early discharge planning and appropriate referrals for post-hospital care; evaluates the effectiveness of teaching by feedback from patient/ family and documents same. Duties not mentioned here, but considered related are not essential functions. Job Qualification Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, preferred. Must be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two (2) years and obtain a BSN Degree within five (5) years of job entry date. Current License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
