About our Medical Assistant position
The Medical Assistant - Certified provides support to patients and co-workers by performing a variety of clinical and administrative tasks in different areas of the health center.
This is a union position, and the pay range is from $21.36 - $32.04, placement in the range is dependent on experience. A generous benefit package is also offered.
What you will be doing!
- Performing back-office responsibilities as required by the health center; rooms patients; stock rooms; phlebotomy, injections, labs, patient educations; assists NPs, RNs, and MDs.
- Provides non-judgmental, client-centered care, and provides accurate information by answering questions and providing appropriate resources.
- Assists with optimizing patient flow to keep appointments on schedule.
- Establishes and prepares documents for patient records and patient services.
- Provides patients and co-workers with excellent customer service in all interactions and tasks.
- Demonstrate a high degree of professionalism and ability to maintain client confidentiality

- Must be team oriented, able to adapt to changes, able to learn and implement knowledge the Planned Parenthood way, detail oriented, pleasant, and professional demeanor, excellent attendance, and timeliness. Must be ok with providing abortion care.
- Must be able to work in a clinic where we see between 20 and 30 patients a day. Must be able to embrace teamwork and flexibility of days and locations.

Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Medical Assistant Certification
- One or two years of experience in an office or medical setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications; experience with electronic health records
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with reproductive healthcare in a clinical office or hospital setting with knowledge of EHR
Spanish-speaking

Salary Range:
PPGNHAIK's compensation Philosophy is based in equity and transparency. Starting offers are determined by both the candidate's directly applicable experience and internal equity within the paygrade. The pay range for this position is $21.36- $32.04 hourly.
Position Type:
This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) non-exempt, union position at our Health center.

Other Information:
All new hires are strongly recommended to have the COVID-19 vaccination, including boosters. All new hires hired between September and April must present proof of receiving a current flu shot.
