The NNP is credentialed to function in an expanded nursing role and is responsible for the consistent management of a discreet caseload of neonatal patients with consultation, collaboration and general supervision from an attending physician. All functions are performed within joint medical/nursing standards and protocols, and in accordance with hospital policies and procedures. The practitioner works in conjunction with the Registered Nurse to provide family-centered care. Must be able to assess, care for, and treat patients in the following categories: Neonatal/ Newborn (Birth - 30 Days) Infant (30 Days) Requirements: Education/Licensure/Certification: Registered nurse, currently licensed in the State of Michigan; BSN, with satisfactory completion of a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program meeting the ANA/AWHONN guidelines for certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner. State of Michigan Advanced Practice Licensure required. Master’s degree with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner training and certification as described above preferred.
