We currently have opportunities for Floor Registered Nurses – Day Shift – 7am - 7:30pm

 

Position Summary

The RN is responsible for implementing and evaluating patient care on the Adult/Adolescent/Geriatric units; for providing supervision and guidance for nursing staff members; for assuming responsibilities delegated by the Chief Nursing Officer, Assistant Chief Nursing Officer, or House Supervisor; for personal and professional growth and development. Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Job Duties

  • Completes patient admissions process, including nursing assessment.
  • Documents ongoing patient assessments/progress clearly and concisely as required by hospital and regulatory agency standards.
  • Medication management – administer medication and medical treatment as prescribed by a physician.
  • Participates as member of interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Ensures nursing interventions.
  • Provides milieu management and unit team leadership.
  • Provides appropriate nursing intervention/documentation in crisis situations.
  • Reports unsafe conditions.
  • Provides age-specific communication, limit setting and interventions.
  • Provides health education to patients and their families.
  • Prepares and adheres to facility patient discharge process.
  • Interacts with patients and staff in professional manner, promotes teamwork and demonstrates Service Excellence
  • Attends mandatory staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state).
  • One-year psychiatric nursing experience preferred.
  • CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications which can be obtained during orientation.
  • Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • State and Federal Office of the Inspector General check.
