SandyPines Residential Treatment Center is a 149 bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson Sate Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. SandyPines is at the county line of both Palm Beach and Martin Counties and is just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide primary care coordination for patients and implement a collaborative care plan as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Duties include: Assess mental health needs; develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide consistent therapeutic milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

Job Requirements:

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing and or bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, BLS.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of restraining procedures training (Handle with Care) within 30 days of employment. Understanding of The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA and state and federal regulatory requirements.
Must be able to prioritize workload and effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Excellent listening and communication skills. Focus on providing high quality patient care.

Physical Requirements:

Move efficiently enough to meet the needs of several patients and/or move rapidly to provide timely intervention of patient aggression. Able to stand, sit and walk during work shift. Job Summary and Qualifications The manager demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgement, and leadership in the anticipation and planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the Florida Nurse Practice Act, physician’s orders, recognized nursing techniques, policies, procedures, established standards and administrative policies. Participates in the operations and activities of the nursing unit, staff development and the accomplishment of departmental responsibilities in accordance with corporate, hospital, department and safety policies and procedures to meet company and regulatory requirements. Provides high-quality patient care by acting as a liaison with patients and their representatives, physicians and employees and maintaining the efficient operation of the department.
