SandyPines Residential Treatment Center is a 149 bed Residential Psychiatric Facility servicing children and adolescents ages 5 to 17. The facility is located in beautiful sub-tropical South Florida and is nestled beside Jonathan Dickinson Sate Park which creates a rustic, roomy outdoor atmosphere. SandyPines is at the county line of both Palm Beach and Martin Counties and is just minutes away from the shores of the Atlantic Ocean.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:

The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide primary care coordination for patients and implement a collaborative care plan as prescribed by the physician and treatment team. Duties include: Assess mental health needs; develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care; administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician; to ensure safety and provide consistent therapeutic milieu management and crisis intervention strategies.

Job Requirements:

Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing and or bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a psychiatric health-care facility preferred.
Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida, BLS.
Additional Requirements: CPR certification and successful completion of restraining procedures training (Handle with Care) within 30 days of employment. Understanding of The Joint Commission (TJC), OSHA and state and federal regulatory requirements.
Must be able to prioritize workload and effectively multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Excellent listening and communication skills. Focus on providing high quality patient care.

Physical Requirements:

Move efficiently enough to meet the needs of several patients and/or move rapidly to provide timely intervention of patient aggression. Able to stand, sit and walk during work shift. Able to hear spoken words in a normal vocal range, respond to signals, alarms, codes or other displays. Recognize vocal intonation that signal changes in acuity. Able to bend, reach and stoop. Must write legibly so as to accurately convey information. Able to read instructions and complete documentation and reports. Restrain, as part of a team, an aggressive patient in a safe and therapeutic manner. Able to lift, position or move patients in order to perform (or assist in) searches and procedures, and/or administer injections. Perform activities requiring manual dexterity. Able to lift 30 lbs.

In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience. What you will do in this role: Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status. Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider. Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response. Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients. What qualifications you will need: Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date PCU experience preferred (APRN) Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, or (RN) Registered Nurse HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital is a 229-bed acute care facility accredited by the Joint Commission.
