The Direct Patient Care Registered Nurse- DPC RN is a licensed professional able to demonstrate the following proficiency and mastery of the core competencies: assessment, technical skills, communication, critical thinking, interpersonal skills, planning, intervention, evaluation, flexibility, organizational skills, professional accountability, leadership and service who delivers patient-family centered care in a culturally competent manner utilizing and promoting evidence based practice standards of quality, safety and service.

  • Associates.
Licenses & Certifications:
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
  • ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
  • Basic Life Support.
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support.
  • Registered Nurse.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Nursing or Bachelors degree in Nursing.
  • RNs hired prior to 2/1/2012 (South), 10/1/2017 (Bethesda), 10/1/2023 (Boca), 7/1/2018 (Fishermen’s) are not required to have a BSN to continue in their non-leadership role as an RN.
  • RNs hired after 2/1/2012 (South), 10/1/2017 (Bethesda), 10/1/2023 (Boca), 7/1/2018 (Fishermen’s) with an Associate’s degree will have 5 years from their date of hire to complete the BSN degree.
  • RN must complete a preceptor class within twelve months of being deemed competent by department leadership for independent practice.
  • As per department standard any of the following may be required (ACLS-Advanced Cardiac Life Support, BLS- Basic Life Support, PALS- Pediatric Advanced Life Support, NRP- Neonatal Resuscitation Program or ONS-Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card).

Description * This position is located in Coral Springs, Fl. Job Summary Under general supervision, renders professional nursing care in accordance with physicians' treatment plans in order to provide for the comfort and well-being of patients. Assesses patients' condition, administers prescribed drugs, provides treatments, observes patients' progress, records pertinent observations and reports reaction to drugs and treatments. Assists physicians with examinations and prepares instruments and equipment for physicians' use. Coordinates care planning, collaborates with the clinical and medical staff, and educates patients and their family members on the procedure in a compassionate patient and family centered care environment. Supports and upholds quality standards of a Magnet designated hospital and Patient Bill of Rights. Job Specific Duties Completes all nursing multi-system assessment that includes head to toe, vitals, dressing changes, suction, feeding, bathing, and repositioning. Reviews patient admission history, prepares and accurately completes the discharge planning process as per department and hospital policies & procedures. Communicates the patient's progress including critical findings, changes in the patients' condition with the physician and/or disciplines involved in the care of the child. Plans, implements, and documents the plan of care in collaboration with the other disciplines and services to assure safe and efficient care. Provides nursing care that includes IV site monitoring and troubleshooting, specimen collection, and assists medical team with special procedures. Follows physician’s orders and administers & reconstitutes medications directed. Adheres to the six rights of medication administration. Collaborates and rounds with a multi-disciplinary team in daily care planning rounds, as appropriate, and fosters a Family Centered Care environment.
