Assistant Nurse Managers are responsible for the following:
- The Assistant Nurse Manager facilitates the realization of the organization's mission, strategic plan, and values at the point of care.
- Plans for, leads, coordinates and facilitates the provision of quality care and service for a defined population of patients and facilitates the procurement of appropriate supplies/equipment and provides for adequate numbers and mix of staff to deliver nursing care.
- The Assistant Nurse Manager demonstrates excellence in problem solving, leadership, communication, fiscal responsibility and teamwork.
- The Assistant Nurse Manager provides leadership, consultation and collaboration in a dynamic, multidisciplinary teaching environment.
- She/He collaborates with administrators and other members of the health care team to design, evaluate and improve patient care systems and processes.
- She/he supports nursing professional development, Magnet, and Shared Governance through participation in, and mentoring of colleagues, on councils and the Clinical Ladder program
Qualifications for this position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required, master’s degree preferred.
- Specialty/leadership certification preferred (for example CCRN, CEN, NE-BC, other) within 2 years of hire.
- AND
- 5+ years acute care experience required; experience in a similar or ‘like’ unit is required: demonstrated leadership and management potential.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of PA
- American Heart Association BLS certification required. ACLS and PALS as required by department.
- Certification in specialty preferred. If Certification is required on a specific unit; certification must be obtained within one year of hire date.
