Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Monitoring & Assessment: Regularly monitor patients' vital signs, physical condition, and emotional well-being, documenting any changes in their status. Work with physicians and care teams to ensure appropriate interventions.
  • Medication Administration & Management: Administer prescribed medications, monitor patient responses, and adjust treatments as necessary according to physicians' orders. Ensure medication records are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with Registered Nurses (RNs), physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans. Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care.
  • Patient Education & Support: Provide education and guidance to patients and families on healthcare plans, medication management, and self-care techniques to promote recovery and wellness.
  • Routine Nursing Duties: Perform routine nursing tasks such as wound care, catheter management, specimen collection, and other essential healthcare services under the supervision of the Unit Manager.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care, treatments, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations and facility policies.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond promptly to medical emergencies, including monitoring for signs of acute distress and administering first aid or emergency treatments when necessary.
  • Assist with Admissions & Discharges: Support patient admissions and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition and necessary documentation is completed. Provide patient and family education regarding post-care instructions.
  • Administrative Support: Assist in coordinating daily operations, including inventory management for medical supplies, ensuring compliance with infection control protocols, and supporting the Unit Manager with various administrative tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Active LPN license in the state of Ohio.
