The Coral Springs Family Health (FHC) and Surgery Center provides patients with convenient access to the same world-class care provided at Cleveland Clinic's regional hospitals. This state-of-the-art facility specializes in primary care, outpatient surgery, imaging and more. The Coral Springs FHC is an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC). The department has 4 operating rooms, 2 shelled operating rooms, 2 endo procedure rooms, and 26 pre/post bays. As Nurse Manager of the Ambulatory Surgery Center, you play an essential role in the practice and delivery of patient care. The ideal caregiver will have decisive decision making skills, resiliency, and strong collaboration with surgeons and anesthesia team.
Caregivers in this role are salaried/exempt and work Days.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Manage the operation and practice of professional nursing and delivery of nursing care on an assigned unit.
- Establish clinical direction of nursing care, provide clinical supervision and maintain quality outcomes and patient care standards.
- Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care.
- Develop quality initiatives and implement policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit.
- Supervise caregivers and promote development.
- Maintain adherence to JCAHO and other regulatory standards.
- Develop and monitor budgets, approve purchases and establish/revise inventory quotes.
- Analyze personnel structure and determine staffing needs.
- Evaluate performance, conduct selection and termination processes and develop strategic plans.
- Participate in clinical nursing research and support foundation research activities.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or through American Red Cross within first year of hire
- Three years of recent clinical nursing experience including at least one year of healthcare management experience
- High degree of clinical expertise in the specialty area
- Demonstrated leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group process skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Two years of progressive leadership experience in an Ambulatory Surgery Center
- Current or recent nurse manager experience in an ambulatory surgery center
- Master's Degree in Nursing
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye and hand coordination.
- Requires frequent data entry, sitting, standing and walking.
- Requires corrective vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids.
- Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
- Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
