LPN School Contract

A full-semester contract position is available for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to support a middle school student with complex medical and emotional needs. This role requires delivering dedicated, compassionate care in an educational setting, ensuring the student’s health and well-being throughout the school day.

Location:

  • Arroyo Grande, CA (Onsite middle school setting)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one nursing care to an 8th-grade male student with a complex eating disorder and emotional disorder.
  • Monitor the student’s health status and respond promptly to any medical needs or emergencies.
  • Collaborate with school staff, counselors, and healthcare providers to support the student’s academic and personal development.
  • Participate in the LVN pool to cover additional urgent needs or absences, supporting other students as required.
  • Maintain accurate health records and comply with school nursing policies and procedures.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current California LVN License required.
  • Experience working with pediatric or adolescent mental health populations is highly recommended.
  • Ability to manage complex medical and emotional health conditions in a school environment.
  • Male candidates are preferred for this assignment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with school personnel, students, and families.
