The Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of patient care provided to an assigned group of patients.Indirectly supervises all nursing personnel assigned to the group of patients for whom he/she is coordinating.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs basic patient care procedures/techniques competently, including the administration of medication.Organizes patient care effectively.
  • Performs assessment data collection in an ongoing and systematic manner, focusing on age, physiologic, psychological and cognitive status of the patient.Completes, reviews and evaluates the data collected by caregivers.
  • Develops a plan of care that prescribes nursing actions to achieve patient goals.Identifies patient/family learning needs and implements appropriate process from admission to discharge.

Required:

RN licensure

BCLS

ACLS for required for certain units.

Graduate of an approved school of Nursing

One year experience in department clinical specialty

Current Michigan driver's license and proff of valid automobile insurance with a clear Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)

Will make daily residents visits and will observe and evaluate physical, emotional and social needs of the resident and will complete appropriate reports and documentation. Will notify clinical coordinator and/or physician of resident status via written and verbal communication. Participates in the resident care review process and assists in establishing resident goals, problem resolutions, approaches and revisions as needed; utilizes multidisciplinary team strategies. Prepares assessments, resident care plans, and documents in the medical record according to established guidelines and procedures. Is responsible for charting in residents medical chart according to facility policy and procedure and nursing standards of practice. I s responsible for execution of the doctor’s orders as written. Will bring any concerns of validity or implementation of an order to the appropriate supervisor’s attention immediately. ENVIRONMENT AND WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in long term care and rehab healthcare setting with residents who are experiencing a wide range of medical, surgical, end of life, and /or psychological problems.
