Overview
Integrate collaborative care planning for individual patients and implement nursing standards in the processes of care.Responsibilities
- Utilizes the nursing process in caring for all patients, to include: assessing symptoms, planning interventions, implementing treatment plans, evaluating responses to interventions, and revising plan based on overall effectiveness.
- Demonstrates the skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to the population served.
- Adheres to the established practice standards and procedures at New London Hospital, in the administration of all medications and in-patient care activities.
- Documents care provided using hospital standards and appropriate nursing notes
- Provides education to patients and families based on assessment of learning needs.
- Participates in interdisciplinary discharge planning.
- Ensures patient environment is safe and free from hazards.
- Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/health care errors.
- Assists in the orientation of new employees to the Medical/Surgical Unit.
- Participates in required hospital and/or unit competencies
- Attends staff meetings as required by Clinical Manager
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- 1 year of relevant clinical practice
- Critical thinking skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to collaborate with multiple disciplines in a professional manner
Required Licensure/Certifications
REQUIRED LICENSE(S): • Licensed RN with NH eligibility REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS: • (ACLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 180 daysRelated Jobs
