Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse for the University Behavioral Health Care. The primary purpose is to provide direct care, wellness counseling, perform treatments and proceed within established guidelines. Facilitate appointments and liaison with Primary Care Providers

Among the key duties of this position is the following:

Observes and reports relevant behaviors, including response to interpersonal, intrapersonal and extra personal events and ability to meet basic needs.
Participates as needed in consumer treatment planning.
Uses the UBHC Medical Database resource to help consumers schedule appointments for Primary Care, Eye and Dental as well as any follow- up appointments.
Administers medication as prescribed by the physician or APN. Prepares and administers routine medications according to procedure as ordered.
Checks all medical supplies including that unit First Aid Kit and assures available for use.
Maintains a quiet, clean, organized work area with easily accessible materials and logical work flow.
Participates in educational programs, including workshops and incorporates content into performance and enters trainings in the UBHC training record.
Facilitates consumer’s access for alternative benefits as appropriate.
