Euclid Hospital’s 8th floor Med/Surg and Telemetry Unit is a 31-bed unit that specializes in advanced telemetry. This unit has an average daily census of 25 and is comprised of 7 private rooms, 10 semi-private rooms and a 4-bed observation room for patients who may be confused, at risk for falls or in need of visual monitoring. Known for their exceptional assessment skills and team mentality, caregivers in this unit provide the best patient-centered and relationship-based care to their adult to geriatric patients with ranging medical-surgical diagnoses. 

A caregiver in this position works days, 7:00am—7:30pm. 


A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide direction and support to the unit staff and supervises admissions, conducts assessment of patient's needs, and initiates nursing care plans. 

  • Evaluate and document patient progress. 

  • Facilitate the planning, implementation, development, and evaluation of nursing programs, initiatives, and objectives for the unit. 

  • Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective delivery of health services in a unit. Serves as a liaison between the manager, staff, and other areas within the organization. 

  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services in a unit. 

  • Prepare schedule of work assignments assuring adequate coverage. 

  • Participate in and supports quality improvement projects, outcomes studies and research initiatives. 

  • Participate in departments and committees as assigned. 

  • Assist in orienting new personnel, continuing education, and in-service educational programs. 

 

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • Graduated from an accredited school of professional nursing.  

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing. 

  • Strong demonstrated clinical knowledge and skills. 

  • Good oral, written and interpersonal skills, strong analytical and organization skills. 

  • Current state licensure as Registered Nurse (RN). 

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) 

  • Two years of recent clinical nurse experience.
