Caregiver Responsibilities and Duties

In this role, you will assist clients with crucial activities of daily living as well as, personal care activities, which include (but are not limited to):

  • Assisting with mobility
  • Performing housekeeping tasks
  • Preparing meals
  • Accompany on errands or appointments
  • Assist with personal hygiene
  • Provide medication reminders
  • Assist with prescribed range of motion exercises
  • Dementia care
  • Provide companionship

Caregiver Qualifications and Skills:

  • One year of personal or professional caregiving experience. 
  • High school graduate or G.E.D. certificate preferred.
  • Must be able to lift/move 50 lbs without assistance 
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English as needed for the job
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance
  • Pass a background check
  • CNA license, Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide certification preferred

Position: Caregiver

Pay: $11-$13/hour

Shifts available: Part-time or full-time 6am-2pm. Full-time 2pm-10pm. All positions include weekend rotations. PCA/HHA Overview: Resident Care Aide - Personal Care Aide (PCA) team members assist with ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by providing personal care support. This position is responsible for meeting the physical and emotional needs of residents under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse ensuring that the highest degree of quality resident care is maintained at all times. Responsibilities Resident Care Aide - Home Health Aide (HHA): Ability to assist residents with Daily Living Activities as needed that may include meal assistance, grooming, medication management, showering, dressing/undressing, toileting, skin care. Ability to use hands, arms and fingers in repeated motions that include ability to feel or operate objects, tools, or controls including grasping and turning motions. Ability to move and walk quickly and steadily in an emergency situation. Ability to assist with wheelchair transport of resident(s). Ability to apply/utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Responsible for responding immediately to residents’ requests. Assists residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADL’s), according to their plan of care, individual needs and care preferences. Notifies Supervisor of changes in residents conditions or needs Maintains facility standards for resident care Assists with service in the dining room for all meals as needed. Maintain facility standards for service and customer focus techniques.
