The Birth Coordinator supports the team process and acts as an advocate for patients, families, and visitors. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to all rules and regulations of all applicable local, state, and federal agencies, and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships both internally and externally.

The Value You'll Bring To The Team
- Uses knowledge of pregnancy, labor, delivery, and post-partum care to create individualized care plans.
- Assesses needs, modifies care plans, and evaluates patients' developmental levels and support systems.
- Identifies teaching opportunities and participates in practice changes from performance improvements.
- Documents and monitors activities accurately.
- Acts as a liaison between the obstetrical unit and patients, families, and physician office staff, addressing concerns and ensuring customer satisfaction.
- Triages calls and compiles patient education materials.
- Provides patient education packets and supplies physician offices with requested materials.
- Monitors and maintains supply availability.
- Utilizes knowledge of programs for expectant mothers, providing resources, scheduling appointments, and educating on various programs.
The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:
Required
- Registered Nurse (RN) Current valid State of Florida or multi state license
- Related work experience
- Neonatal Resuscitation (NPR) with Obstetrics experience
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certification
- Ability to communicate professionally (orally and in written form) in the English language
- Strong organizational skills
- Customer service skills
- Skilled in providing age-appropriate education
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to interact appropriately with patients/families and care team in regard to care management
