MDS RN Director
We are currently seeking an experienced MDS Director to join our the team at Davenport Rehab.
As the MDS Director, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Minimum Data Set (MDS) process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory guidelines. This is a key leadership role that requires strong clinical knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.

MDS RN Responsibilities:
Coordinate and lead the MDS process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of assessments for all residents
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to gather and analyze resident data, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
Review and interpret medical records, physician orders, and other clinical documentation to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement
Develop and implement strategies to optimize reimbursement through accurate and thorough documentation
Train and educate staff on MDS coding guidelines, documentation requirements, and regulatory changes
Conduct regular audits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement
Serve as a resource and provide guidance to staff regarding MDS coding and documentation
Stay updated with changes in MDS regulations and best practices to ensure compliance
MDS RN Qualifications:
Valid nursing license (RN, LPN) and a minimum of 2 years of experience in a skilled nursing facility
- Certified MDS Coordinator (RAC-CT) preferred - In-depth knowledge of process
Strong understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations
Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficient in computer skills
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and communicate effectively
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Commitment to upholding high standards of care and compliance
