  • Adheres to the department’s and hospital’s policies and procedures, including safety, risk management and regulatory standards. Keeps abreast of trends, developments and regulatory requirements impacting matters within designated scope of responsibility.
  • Administers, oversees and documents the administration of medications (e.g., topically, orally, intramuscularly, subcutaneously and intravenously) as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Assesses patient to include physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs. Gathers data relevant for patient care. Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes. Plans care appropriately based on needs identified during initial and on-going assessments. Provides holistic, comprehensive, and professional nursing care to patient within the scope of practice. Implements appropriate patient interventions and evaluates outcomes. Prepares patient for discharge and assists with coordinating post discharge needs.
  • Cultural Sensitivity and Competence: Demonstrates proper use of available communication tools/materials for effective communication and understands how the culture(s) of patient populations can affect communication, collaboration and the provision of care, treatment and services. Patient Populations Served: Demonstrates knowledge and proper skills associated with the department’s defined specific populations served.
  • Demonstrates competent professional practice and engages in opportunities for professional growth. Demonstrates self accountability to meet stated deadlines for all mandatory requirements.
  • Documents care delivered and patient status utilizing the nursing process in accordance with FHS standards of care, for example, changes in patient condition, patient responses to intervention and reassessments of pertinent findings. Receives and assures appropriateness, accuracy, timeliness and execution of physician orders.

RN - Cardiac Rehab

Job Summary and Responsibilities This job will support our Cardiac Rehabilitation program, utilizing 10-hr shifts on Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. We operate a standard cardiac rehab program and, in addition, currently operate the only intensive cardiac rehab program in Washington. This Cardiac Rehab RN position will: Work in conjunction with the Exercise Physiologist, and supervise exercise sessions, monitoring patients for inappropriate responses to exercise. Be responsible for the initial assessment of the patient, assist with the orientation of new patients, and collaborate in the development of the plan of care for the patient Be responsible for blood pressure checks on all patients before, during and after exercise, watching for abnormal responses on the telemetry device. Assesses patients before, during and after exercise, and makes appropriate referrals and/or recommendations to the patient, other staff, and Medical Director. Promptly report any significant patient conditions (arrhythmias, abnormal blood pressure responses, change in patient’s status, etc.) to physician supervising the program. Initiate ACLS measures and/or emergency care according to the hospital policy. Chart and document initial assessment and daily patient information and progress. Educate patients and/or family members as part of either the general Cardiac Rehabilitation or Pritikin Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program. Check emergency supplies and equipment for proper function and adequate supply on a regular basis. Keep current in the field of Cardiac Rehabilitation through journals, in-services, and conferences, including completing annual competencies. RN Inpatient - Therapeutic Endoscopy

Job Summary and Responsibilities Virginia Mason is recognized internationally for endoscopic treatment of gastroesophageal, hepatic and pancreaticobiliary disorders. Patients come from all over the world for treatment at Virginia Mason. Several endoscopic advances as well as novel therapeutic treatments are in use at Virginia Mason, including ERCP with endoscopic ultrasound. Together these modalities produce exquisite images of the biliary tree, pancreas, and liver, and allow dual modality drainage for severe cases of pancreatic necrosis as well as other pancreaticobiliary disorders. Virginia Mason has been ranked consistently among the top five medical centers in Washington state for treatment of GI disorders. Job Summary and Responsibilities Job Summary: Provides professional nursing care to patients with alterations in skin/tissue integrity (e.g. pressure, vascular, arterial and diabetic ulcerations, as well as skin conditions resulting from incontinence, surgical procedures and/or trauma).
