The LPN is responsible for supervising nursing personnel to deliver high-quality care. Within the scope of practice, the LPN coordinates care delivery to ensure that patient needs are met in accordance with professional standards, physician orders, facility policies, and federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care while supervising nursing assistants

  • Administer medications and treatments promptly and accurately, per policy

  • Receive, transcribe, and carry out physician orders

  • Follow procedures for charting and reporting incidents or accidents involving patients or staff

  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions to supervisors, physicians, and family members
