MDS Coordinator Summary

As our MDS Coordinator, you will oversee all aspects of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) and Minimum Data Set (MDS) process. You’ll ensure assessments are completed accurately and in compliance with CMS and Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) regulations and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team members to ensure accurate care plan goals.

  • Communicate effectively across departments to ensure timely completion and transmission of RAI/MDS.

  • Prepare accurate reports based on RAI/MDS data, including Quality Measures (QM) and Quality Indicators (QI).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: MANAGE AREAS OR PROGRAMS: Manage areas or programs to include carrying out, coordinating, or managing administrative functions and area or programs related to Nursing Services which may include departmental documentation or medical records, nursing supplies, ancillary supplies or services, facility QA, Care Plans, MDS, Infection Control Program, TILES, Restorative Care, Skin Care Program, Medicare, Special Restraint or Medication Programs, Light Duty or Safety Program, Staff Scheduling, Selection, Training, Orientation or related functions and such duties that may include supervision of other staff. SUPPORT DON: Work with or support Director of Nursing, Administrator and Consultants in planning all aspects of nursing service to include interacting with other disciplines and departments. May assist Director of Nursing in monitoring day to day operation of the nursing department, and to establish priorities and manage records, budgets or supplies. STAFF DEVELOPMENT: Supervise, conduct and participate in department and facility education activities and staff meetings.
