Now Hiring: Nurse Practice Educator / Infection Preventionist (Registered Nurse RN)

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the facility leadership and medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate the annual infection prevention goals and action plan.

  • Establish a facility-wide system for the prevention, identification, investigation, and control of infections of residents, staff, and visitors.  This will include surveillance designed to identify possible communicable disease or infections before they spread.

  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of on-going staff development programs for all personnel within facility.

  • Works closely with department heads to assess the on-going learning needs of employees to meet the needs of the residents and the facility.

  • Other duties as assigned by Director of Nursing and Administrator.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience managing staff is preferred.

  • Ability to work independently or part of a group.

  • Computer knowledge.

  • Previous long term care experience is preferred but not required.

License:

  • Must have an Active Registered Nurse RN license.

Minimum Education, Training, and Experience Required: Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in State of Maryland or compact state. Associates degree in Nursing required; Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment Certified in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). BLS certification is required of ALL nurses within 90-days of hire. The following certifications are required for the nursing units specified. Each certification must be completed within 1 year of hire.
