You will need to be able to communicate effectively and be able to critically think on the spot if there are vital signs that are abnormal. You will encounter frequent communication with nurses on the floor as you will be working with 3-4 nurses at a time, servicing up to 9 patients during a 12-hour shift. This team focuses on the overall patient experience and is unique in having 36 private beds on the unit. The Patient Care Assistant provides excellent service to patients as a key member of the clinical care team. Assists patients with personal needs and activities of daily living, collects data, and ensures the patient has a safe, organized environment. Assists with patient care within the scope permitted and under the direction of a clinician. Supports the unit with a variety of patient logistic, clerical, equipment/supply, and charge reconciliation duties.
