Position Highlights:

  • Full-Time, 40 hours per week
  • Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday, hours vary from 7:30AM-7:00PM; rotating Saturday, 8:00AM-12:00PM

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and assist with registration, scheduling, measuring vital signs and collecting health history
  • Provide support to physicians during examinations, minor office surgeries, dressing changes and other first aid procedures
  • Certified medical assistants may assist with immunizations or injections
  • Assist patients with prescription requests, address pharmacy callbacks, provider orders, update charting and filing
  • Conduct onsite lab testing to include: EKG, pulmonary function, blood glucose and urine pregnancy tests
  • Maintains clean, warm and inviting examination rooms for patient visits
  • Provide excellent customer service exemplifying Duly Health and Care CARE values
  • Some travel to assist other local clinics may be required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of Medical Assistant educational program or higher education courses in health sciences or related experience required
  • Several of our clinical specialties including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Family Practice, require active medical assistant certification through one of the following:
    • American Medical Technologists (AMT)
    • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
    • National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
    • American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
    • American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CPR certification or willing to become certified upon hire required
  • May require phlebotomy certification to be completed within 90 days of hire
  • Prior experience working as an MA, CMA, CNA, EMT or 2 years of prior experience working in a medical office assisting with patient care

 

The compensation for this role includes a base pay range of $21.43-23.63 for a Medical Assistant; Certified or Registered Medical Assistant the base pay range is $22.97-24.57, with the actual pay determined by factors such as skills, experience, education, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. Additional compensation may be available through shift differentials, bonuses, and other incentives. Base pay is only a portion of the total rewards package.

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a full-time Patient Care Assistant (Medical Assistant) to work at the clinic located in New Lenox, IL. This Assistant’s responsibilities include all duties related to the back-office with occasional front desk duties. Responsibilities assigned to individuals can and will change at any time at the discretion of management or the supervisor. Back Office Responsibilities: 1) Escort patients from reception to exam room, documenting height, weight, blood pressure and temperature as indicated, document patient’s chief complaint and notify doctor when patient is ready to be seen 2) Stock exam rooms with supplies each morning, clean rooms between patients 3) Maintain inventory of medical supplies, completing requisitions (order forms) in a timely manner to ensure supplies are not depleted 4) Other tasks as assigned by management Front Office Responsibilities: 1) Filing of all scanned paperwork daily 2) Fax clinic schedules to physicians for next clinic day. 3) Prepare travel chart weekly 4) Open and distribute mail, daily 5) Print schedule for following clinic day. Verity that all progress notes and super-bills are attached 6) Order office supplies 7) Answer telephone calls, including closed offices at different locations 8) Page on consultations to physicians. Page should include consult, hospital, patient name, room number, referring physician, and hospital phone number with appropriate extension 9) Make appointments for new and existing patients according to set guidelines.
