Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
-
Current Illinois LPN or Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
-
Working knowledge of general nursing practices
-
Prior supervisory experience preferred, ideally in a healthcare or long-term care setting
-
Strong clinical judgment with the ability to make independent decisions
-
Ability and willingness to supervise and collaborate with professional and non-professional staff
-
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English
-
Knowledge of applicable regulations, including JCAHO, OBRA, IDPH, and HFS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Support the facility’s philosophy of care and uphold its goals and standards
-
Assign and supervise nursing aides, ensuring completion of duties and appropriate coverage
-
Administer medications, injections, and physician-ordered treatments
-
Conduct daily rounds to assess residents and ensure Care Plans are followed and updated
-
Communicate with physicians and families regarding changes in resident condition
-
Ensure accurate and timely documentation, medication counts, and EMR compliance
-
Monitor residents experiencing acute illness, decline, injury, or post-surgical recovery
-
Maintain infection control, safety standards, and facility policies
-
Prepare incident and accident reports and coordinate resident transfers as needed
-
Attend required nursing, Care Plan, and departmental meetings
-
Maintain confidentiality and protect resident rights at all times

Perform additional duties as assigned by the DON, ADON, or Administrator
