Assistant Clinical Nurse Manager - FMC Postpartum (1.0 FTE, Evenings)

Wage Range: $131,685 - $210,704 per year

Under general direction by the Women’s & Children’s Director and Clinical Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) utilizes the nursing process to prescribe, prioritize, delegate, and provide safe, therapeutic allocation of nursing resources to patients/families. Makes independent judgments, decisions, and takes action regarding a wide range of routine and complex staffing and unit workflow issues. Collaborates with appropriate disciplines to coordinate continuity of patient care from admission through discharge in support of the medical and nursing plans of care.

Primary Duties 
  1. Assists with unit organization and management within established policies, procedures, standards of care, budgetary parameters and long-range objectives.
  2. Performs specific leadership functions related to clinical practice, education, and/or management as delegated by and in collaboration with the Nursing Director. 
  3. Coordinates and participates in patient care utilizing the nursing process; delegates and accepts responsibility for the level of care provided by those under his/her direction.
  4. Provides support to the unit management team to ensure strong workflow processes and infrastructures that promote efficient and effective quality patient care. Support is provided to all staff any day and any shift as determined by need/demand. 
  5. Demonstrates and maintains effective communication/collaboration skills within the interdisciplinary health care team.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED for the position:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Washington
  • 4 years of experience in an inpatient care setting (Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, OB Emergency Department and/or OB Operating Room)
  • 2 years of experience in leadership role in an inpatient care setting such as Charge Nurse, Mentor, or Educator
  • Current Healthcare Provider BLS certification by start date
  • NRP certification within 3 months of hire date
  • Knowledge of Federal, State, and JC regulations and requirements

Navigator RN

Job Summary and Responsibilities As a Navigator RN, you will provide expert nursing guidance and support to patients as they navigate complex healthcare journeys. Every day you will assess patient needs, educate on treatment options, coordinate care across multiple providers, and facilitate access to resources, acting as a central point of contact. To be successful, you will demonstrate strong clinical knowledge, exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to ensure seamless and informed care. Essential Functions: Coordinates care for all assigned patients throughout the continuum of care from diagnosis to release from care. Develops and shares assessments, goals, nursing interventions and patient response; remains a support system throughout the patient’s course of treatment. Provides education, psychosocial and logistical support to improve patient preparedness for treatment and to streamline care path transitions Coordinates tests and other procedures so all are timely and with as few interruptions to the patient’s life as possible Attends and participates in hospital patient rounds with physicians and/or multi-disciplinary teams, depending on the assigned department. Consults with physicians/providers who need assistance with the care of their patients related to continuity of care, coordination of care and education, and resources services available. Refers patients to appropriate resources/professionals, and coordinates the appropriate resources and consultative services to provide seamless continuity of care and appropriate follow-up plan of care. Job Requirements Required Bachelors Of Nursing or other related discipline and graduation from an accredited school of nursing and three years of related professional nursing work experience in the clinical focus area that demonstrates the attainment of the requisite job knowledge, skills and abilities, upon hire or Bachelors Of Nursing or Additional equivalent qualifying work experience that demonstrates attainment of the requisite job knowledge/abilities may be substituted for two years of the degree requirement, upon hire and Registered Nurse: WA, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR (through the American Heart Association), upon hire and Oncology Certified Nurse, within 12 - months Preferred Masters Of Nursing or related field and navigator work experience, upon hire Where You'll Work Virginia Mason Franciscan Health has a rich history of providing exceptional healthcare, dating back to 1891.
