Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Key Responsibilities:

Administers medication as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, in accordance with any state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.
Must demonstrate knowledge of the “five rights” of medication administration.
Records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
Observes for and reports any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
Administers PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and consistent with facility policy.

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) Qualifications:

State certification as a nurse aide is required
State approved medication administration certification
Complete familiarity with duties of a certified nurse aide
Highly developed observation skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills

About Us The RRT program is the company’s response to an increased need for licensed and certified medical professionals within healthcare facilities experiencing a surge due to a disaster such as the COVID-19 pandemic and other organizational challenges. OPCO temporarily deploys licensed Certified Medication Aides. Members will typically deploy for six (6) weeks to eight (8) weeks and work up to 12 hours on an AM or PM shift during 24-hour operations depending on the facility’s needs. Active license/certification required. Training and Deployment · RRT members will be trained and oriented for five (5) days on processes, company equipment and software, and service delivery. · Training includes classroom orientation, hands-on training, and preceptorship. Major Duties and Responsibilities Delivers routine daily oral, inhalation and topical medications to residents under direct supervision of a licensed nurse unless otherwise allowed by state law. Observes for any adverse drug reactions and reports any problems to the nurse. Records medication administration according to company policies and procedures. Follows written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications. Observes residents for changes and documents changes in their condition accordingly.
