Registered Nurse Float School Nurse

This contract position requires a registered nurse (RN) to provide comprehensive nursing care across multiple schools within the district. The Float School Nurse will manage a diverse caseload including students with complex medical needs such as diabetes requiring insulin management, asthma, life-threatening allergies, seizure disorders, and spina bifida requiring catheterization. You will be a critical resource supporting student health and wellness while working collaboratively with school staff to maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer and monitor medications, including daily medication management and emergency treatments
Manage health plans for students with chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma
Provide specialized care for students with life-threatening allergies and seizure disorders
Perform catheterization and other nursing procedures as needed
Maintain accurate health records and documentation
Educate students, staff, and families on health-related issues and care protocols
Respond promptly to health emergencies and provide first aid

Qualifications:

Current NJ Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Experience working in school nursing preferred, including K-12 settings
Ability to manage diverse medical needs and multiple school locations
Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Capacity to work independently and as part of a healthcare team
