PRN Surgical Technologist/Scrub Tech at Titusville Center for Surgical Excellence

The Surgical Technologist scrubs for surgical procedures and demonstrates competence while functioning as a member of the surgical team. Maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures. Prepares supplies, instruments, and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives, and goals of the Surgery Center. Supports and participates in quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED; completion of a Surgical Technician Program and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
Certification as required by state and/or center
Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center is strongly preferred
Must possess a strong knowledge of surgical procedures and management of the surgical patient
Understanding of aseptic techniques and their implementation
Ability to quickly adapt to changing condition of the patient when needed
Must excel in teamwork and possess strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff, engage with patients, and coordinate with physicians

Required Experience:

Education and/or Experience:

2-5 years experience as a Scrub Tech in multiple specialties (Ophthalmology, Orthopedic, Gynecology, General, ENT, Podiatry)
Completion of a scrub technician program.
Certification highly preferred.

Demonstrates an ability to perform all duties required of a Surgical Technologist in accordance with established procedures and completion of skills check list. Work Experience MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Education: Completion of Health First’s On-The-Job Training Program for Surgical Technician, OR graduate of a program for Surgical Technologist (Military, Community College, or School for Surgical Technology) with clinical hours, OR one year of work experience as a surgical tech or surgical assistant • Certification: Must hold American Heart Association BLS Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintain. Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English Ability to perform basic math Reliable transportation with ability to respond from location within 30 minutes of assigned facility when on call Ability to be flexible and adaptable with daily schedule and assigned tasks Ability to respond appropriately to stressful or life-threatening situations.
