RN School Contract

A contract opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide dedicated 1:1 health and mobility support for a student in a K-12 school setting. This position is located in Turner, ME, and is scheduled for the current school year (CSY). The role is designed to support a student in accessing their educational program through direct nursing care and mobility assistance, including accompanying the student on transportation as a bus aide.

Work Hours and Schedule:

  • School hours: 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM
  • Workdays aligned with the school calendar, starting after November 18th
  • School day shifts only, Monday through Friday

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized nursing care and mobility support to one student
  • Assist the student during transportation as a bus aide to ensure safety and comfort
  • Collaborate with educational staff to support the student’s health needs throughout the school day
  • Monitor the student’s medical status and respond appropriately to any health-related incidents
  • Promote the student’s participation and access to the educational environment

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license or Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential
  • Experience working in school health settings preferred
  • Ability to manage health and mobility needs of students with individualized care plans
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with students, families, and school personnel
