Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant II supports Employee Health Services by providing safe, effective, and patient-centered care to staff members. The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in an ambulatory or clinic setting, with skills in injections, phlebotomy, and EKGs. This role requires a punctual, dependable team player who takes initiative and values collaboration. The MA assists with health screenings, immunizations, and clinical procedures while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a caring approach to every interaction.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Certification/Skills:
- Use and care of standard clinic equipment
- Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required or
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by American Medical Technologist (AMT) required or
- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by National Center for Competency Testing required or
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required
- Certification may be substituted for Medical Assistant training program required
Minimum Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of an approved Medical Assistant training program OR one (1) year of experience (in addition to the one year of experience required to meet the experience requirement) AND certification may be substituted for Medical Assistant training program.
Minimum Experience:
One year of related experience
Physical Requirements:
Exerts up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
