Responsibilities:

Perform ADLs such as bathing, dressing, serving meals, feeding, ambulating, turning, positioning, etc.
Maintain clean living conditions for residents.
Ensure all reports and records are completed in a timely manner.
Perform all duties in accordance with local, state, and federal guidelines.
Other duties as assigned by Unit Manager, Director of Nursing and Administrator.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Ability to work independently or part of a group.
Computer knowledge.
Previous long term care experience is preferred but not required.

License:

Must have an Active Geriatric Nursing Assistant GNA certification within the state of Maryland

The Geriatric Nursing Assistant has additional training beyond the basic Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training. The focus of the GNA training is elder care. Certified Nursing Assistant training provides the basic tenets and scope of practice for care provided by both the CNA and GNA. Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate. Experience: One year of experience as a Geriatric Nursing Assistant in any type of healthcare delivery setting. Notes Candidates may substitute experience in the direct care of patients for the required education on a year-for-year basis for up to four years of the required education.
