Job Summary

Responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, teaching, and/or evaluating education and training programs for Dialysis. Develops alternative methodologies for education based on learning principles. Collaborates with clinical partners, educational facilities, and/or other community agencies and consortium institutions when applicable to curriculum. Responsible to manage the orientation, staff development and ongoing professional development for all new Dialysis nurses and technicians. Specifically responsible for Dialysis new employee orientation, Dialysis charge RN class, Dialysis tech. central catheter class, EPIC one chart for Dialysis and other support as need. May also participate in coordinating orientation schedules with managers, preceptors, orientees and/or clinical partners; coordinates and/or provides skills immersion and lab experiences; provides feedback, coaching, and mentors designated audience; ensures orientation documentation processes are complete and filed; follows up at regular intervals to evaluate continued progress; and ongoing collaborates with managers and preceptors as to needs and concerns. Expected to continuously develop, monitor, and evaluate all programs related to orientation, professional development, education, and mentoring for quality improvement opportunities and other initiatives. Expected to build strong alliances with department leaders, clinical partners, community agencies and consortium institutions when applicable. Additional responsibilities include Dialysis policy and procedure committee member, Dialysis symposium planning committee member, and new product and procedure rollout. Must be able to organize, plan, coordinate, and facilitate educational programs, utilize adult learning principles, use various teaching/learning methodologies and provide role modeling and leadership.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in nursing required, Master’s preferred. Graduate from a nationally accredited nursing program preferred, including, but not limited to, Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).

Three years clinical experience required.

Requires current unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or possess multi-state licensure privileges as required by position. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
