Job Summary and Qualifications

Collaborates with physicians, nurses, and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding each patient’s nursing care needs. Works with professional and non-professional employees of the hospital, and with physicians, patients, and their families.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITY

Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care for assigned patients.
Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for the Rehabilitation Unit and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
Participates in activities to plan, measure, asses and improve the quality of patient care.
Instructs patients/families regarding the disease process.
Responsible for additional admission paperwork specific to the Rehabilitation Unit.
Participates in weekly patient care conferences, as needed.
Assumes the responsibility of charging the unit, as needed.
Responsible for maintaining customer friendly atmosphere.

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
(RN) Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of Texas or compact license
Associates degree required, Bachelor preferred
1 year of experience working as an RN required
6 months rehab nursing experience preferred

What does the Oncology Registered Nurse (RN) do? Under minimal supervision, the Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Job Summary and Qualifications The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the nature and specific requirements of the department, and consistent with the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other members of the care team, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients/families/caregivers and models a commitment to the organization’s vision/mission/values to support an unparalleled patient experience and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance. Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention. Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner. Performs exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests. Strives to anticipate patient needs and resolve them proactively. Teaches patients/families/caregivers about patient medical condition, patient status, treatment plan, medications and possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
