Acts Home Services is currently seeking qualified candidates for our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position.

 

In this role, you will provide direct care to our residents while respecting confidentiality at all times. You will assist in the care of our residents in their home or within our community through the performance of personal services in order to enable the resident to remain independent in their home.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:
  • Current state certification for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
  • Current or eligible for certification in CPR
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • If transporting a resident, must provide proof of automobile liability insurance and valid state driver’s license

Live In Caregiver (PCA or CNA certified)

Job Description Summary: The PCA/HHA/CNA is a member of the home care team who works under the supervision of the RN Supervisor to perform various personal care services as necessary to meet the client’s needs, according to the plan of care. The caregiver is responsible for observing clients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performed. The PCA/HHA/CNA will be assigned in a manner that promotes quality, continuity, and safety of a client’s care. Essential Job Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the PCA/HHA/CNA include, but are not limited to the following: The performance of all personal care activities contained in a written assignment by a licensed health professional employee or contractor of the home care organization and which include assisting the client with personal hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, shaving, physical transfer, and other duties, as assigned. Maintenance of a clean, safe and healthy environment, which may include light cleaning and straightening of the bathroom, straightening the sleeping and living areas, washing the client's dishes or laundry, and such tasks to maintain cleanliness and safety for the client or client. Other activities as taught by a licensed health professional employee or contractor of the home care organization for a specific client or client and are restricted to the following: Assisting with reinforcement of dressing; Assisting with tasks associated with elimination: Toileting; Assisting with the use of bedpan and urinal; Assisting with the use of devices for aid to daily living, such as a wheelchair or walker; Assisting with prescribed range of motion exercises; Taking vital signs, if specified in the plan of service (temperature, pulse, respiration or blood pressure). Keeping records of personal health care activities. Observing appearance and gross behavioral changes in the client, reporting to the registered nurse. Qualifications: High school diploma, preferred; Driver's License required with valid insurance Successful completion of a PCA/ HHA / CNA certification from an approved provider. Compliance with state registry requirements Minimum one (1) year of documented experience required; Must consent to and pass a criminal background check; Have a baseline and annual TB test on record with A Place At Home - Reston; Have a Free from Communicable Disease form on record with A Place At Home - Reston; Self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision; Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills; Ability to express spoken and/or written ideas in English; Works as a team member. Job Limitations: The PCA/HHA/CNA will not function in any manner viewed as the practice of nursing according to practice acts. Specifically, the PCA/HHA/CNA will not administer medications, take physician’s orders or perform procedures requiring the training, knowledge and skill of a Licensed Nurse. Working Conditions: Contact with clients in their living environment. May be required to respond in an emergency situation. Travel required. Position includes tasks that have the potential for a medium level of exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues. Personal Protective Equipment: May include gloves, mask, eye protection, CPR shield and disposable outer covering. Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand, walk, squat, bend, kneel, reach, twist, push and pull. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
