Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Director of Nursing in managing day-to-day clinical operations

  • Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff

  • Ensure regulatory compliance and maintain high standards of resident care

  • Participate in staff education, training, and performance evaluations

  • Support care plan development and implementation in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams

Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) Requirements:

  • Valid RN license in the state of New Jersey

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within long-term or post-acute care

  • Strong understanding of nursing regulations and standards of practice

  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Commitment to resident-centered care and team collaboration

Responsible for direction, provision and quality of Nursing care. a. Provides guidance and training to ADON and DON’s in training. b. Provides weekly supervision to ADON’s to discuss and review key issues. c. Provides support to Nursing Leadership through weekly meetings. 2. Responsible for ensuring one registered professional nurse is on duty at all times and reviews monthly Nursing schedules. 3. Reviews nursing 24 hour reports and brings issues for resolution to the daily morning meeting. 4. Responsible in the development and periodic update of written job description for each level of Nursing Personnel. Reviews and signs competency evaluation of personnel. 8. Ensures completion, documentation of Incident/Accident Reports in a timely manner. 9. Ensures that disciplinary action is administered fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion, handicap or marital status. 10.
