Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Staff Nurse is responsible for planning and providing individual goal directed nursing care that promotes, advocates for, and strives to protect the health, safety and rights of the individual, family and community. The nurse possesses knowledge of the principles of growth and development and the particular skills necessary to provide optimum patient care to the population for which he or she is employed. The RN is accountable for their practice and care coordination. The RN is expected to practice autonomously utilizing evidence based practices. The practice of the Registered Nurse will support the mission, vision and values of Medical City Frisco and the philosophy of the Department of Nursing.

Texas State RN License or compact license required
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN preferred
1+ years acute care experience required; PCU/Telemetry experience preferred

PRIMARY PURPOSE A Registered Nurse (RN) with 2+ years of experience. The RN is a licensed professional who uses the Parkland nursing professional practice model to coordinate patient care delivery, that focuses on a particular patient population(s)/specific health conditions, by the health care team. Using the nursing process, the RN assesses the patient, identifies nursing diagnoses based on responses to health problems, develops and implements an individualized plan of care, and evaluates the patient's response. The RN utilizes knowledge of patient needs and the healthcare environment to assist patients to transition through the healthcare encounter without any preventable complications or delays. The RN delegates interventions to health care personnel based on the Texas Nursing Practice Act, each patient's condition and the competencies of the employee. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of a Registered Nursing program, Bachelor's in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred. Experience: Must have 2+ yeras of nursing ICU experience. Prefer experience in an acute care setting.
