Job Description: The Infusion RN is a licensed professional who provides evidence-based care to adult patients receiving various types of treatments for cancer including chemotherapy and immunotherapy. The Infusion RN works collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to provide patient-centered care utilizing knowledge of infusion therapy, standards and principles of oncology nursing practice, standards for safe handling of hazardous drugs, oncology drug therapies and side effects management and critical thinking skills. This employee will demonstrate technical competence, professional and clinical judgement and communication skills, perform appropriate patient assessments, review lab parameters, provide education and support, administer infusion therapies and obtain and maintain appropriate venous access. The Infusion RN is expected to participate in continuous learning and stay abreast of the latest evidence-based practices and infusion therapies. Essential Functions: Performs nursing assessment and identifies changes in patient status by recognizing signs/symptoms of adverse reactions and side effects Communicates pertinent information concerning treatment and any treatment related side effects.
