Per Diem - MaineHealth Behavioral Health – Sanford Inpatient, is seeking an experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or Psychiatric Physician Associate/Assistant (PPA) to care for adults facing acute psychiatric crises on our 40-bed inpatient unit. This is a dynamic clinical role that includes performing psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and acute care in the setting of a 40 bed adultacute inpatient psychiatric facility. You’ll be supported by 24-hour physician coverage and a culture that prioritizes both patient care and provider well-being. Previous experience required.
Hours: 8:00am - 4:30pm, weekends and weekdays.

Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degreewith an advanced knowledge of nursing theory and practice, and additional medical training.
- 1+ years of patient care in a community mental health center or hospital.
- Advanced skill and knowledge in conducting psychiatric evaluations and treating patients.
- Current and valid license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant by the Maine State Board of Licensure and qualified to do psychiatric evaluations and medication management.
- Specific credentialing criteria needed if working in the hospital as defined by Medical Staff By-Laws.
- 2+ years of patient care in an inpatient Medical Hospital is preferred.
